This is a populaire to be used for the first time on our International Women's Day ride in 2024.
It visits two sites associated with prominent women of our area. First, the Great Wall of Los Angeles- a mural that is half a mile long and depicts the history of California, with an emphasis on historically marginalized groups. The chief artist and artistic visionary of this project is Judith Baca, a noted Chicana artist. nps.gov/places/great-wall-of-los-angeles.htm
The second site visited is the Biddy Mason Memorial Park in DTLA. Biddy Mason was a former enslaved woman who, once granted her freedom, became a wealthy landowner and influential philanthropist in Los Angeles in the mid 19th century. nps.gov/people/biddymason.htm

March 8th is International Women's Day.  To celebrate, RUSA encourages regions to schedule a brevet as part of the "Together We Ride" movement.  PCH Randonneurs will proudly host a populaire on Sunday, March 10th to celebrate International Women's Day.  Commemorative patches will be handed out (to the first 20 entrants).  We hope to have as many women as possible at this ride- mark your calendars and invite your friends.  To help encourage new women randonneurs, PCH Randonneurs will pay for the first year's RUSA membership of any new female riders who participate in this ride.

Of course, men are more than welcome to ride.  We love our men too!

The ride will finish at Hook Burger, where we can enjoy burgers and brews.

This is a minimally supported ride.  Riders are expected to be self-sufficient and obtain their own food and water out on the course.  There is no SAG vehicle.
