This is a fairly climby ride in Northeast Los Angeles that provides many terrific views of the LA area.  The route starts at Occidental College in Eagle Rock and visits South Pasadena, then climbs Mt Olympus in Montecito Height (which involves a short stretch on a gravel road).   At the top of Mt Olympus you will enjoy one the best views available of the LA area.  Next you will head back to South Pasadena, then follow the foothills route by the Rose Bowl, through Montrose and La Crescenta, to the top of La Tuna Canyon.  The descent of La Tuna Canyon will send you toward Burbank and Glendale as you work your way toward Griffith Park.  The next significant climb is up Mt Hollywood Dr to the Observatory.  Along the way you will get a good view of the famous Hollywood sign and many terrific views of LA.  After decending from the observatory, you will use a stretch of the LA River bikeway to work your way over to Elysian Park for another little climb.  If you are a Dodgers fan, you will love seeing the stadium from up on the hill behind it.  In the last 8 miles you will work your way back over to Eagle Rock using surface streets and the bike trail.  The finish will be at York Kabob, where we can socialize and enjoy yummy food.

This is a minimally supported ride. Riders are responsible for obtaining their own food and water on the course.  There is no SAG vehicle.
