Promoting randonneuring and long distance bicycling in Los Angeles, Ventura and Orange Counties

About Pacific Coast Highway Randonneurs

PCH Randonneurs is a bicycle club with the mission of promoting randonneuring- a form of noncompetitive, long distance cycling- in the greater Los Angeles area.  Our club organizes and runs brevets in Los Angeles, Orange, and Ventura counties on behalf of Randonneurs USA (RUSA) and Audax Club Parisien (ACP). We offer a wide variety of rides- from coastal cruises to mountain climbs to urban bike path adventures to treks across the desert.  Have a look at our ride calendar, there is something to interest any randonneur.  We would love you to join us for a ride! You must be a member of PCH Randonneurs to ride our brevets. Membership cost is only $5. Join by clicking here.

The new RUSA insurance policy also requires you to be a current RUSA member to ride an event.  You can join RUSA here.  PCH Randonneurs recognizes that new riders might be deterred by the cost of joining.  If you are brand new to RUSA and you would like to try out randonneuring, check out this offer.

PCH Randonneurs is a nonprofit, all volunteer organization.  Formerly associated with Channel Islands Bicycle Club, PCH Randonneurs was incorporated as a separate entity in 2019.

If you are new to randonneuring and want to learn more about our sport, you can find more information here.  RUSA has many awards that can provide extra motivation to keep you riding regularly- a summary of all the awards programs is here.  There is also a Permanents program where you can ride an official route on any day you choose.

All of our rides require advanced registration, usually by noon two days before the ride date.  There is no day-of event registration.  Each ride description clearly states when the registration period closes- so if you want to ride, don't miss that deadline.  If you need to renew your RUSA membership, make sure you do that several days in advance of the registration deadline- there is often a delay in the updating of the RUSA database.

It is also very helpful to join our Google Group to stay informed about our rides.  We also have a Facebook group.  Here is our communal photo album.

News and Announcements

  • (8/13/24)  You can now order the PCH Randonneurs wool jersey directly from Soigneur, and it will be shipped to your home.  These are soft, high quality merino wool jerseys that will keep you comfortable on cool and cold days.  You can order in either short or long sleeve, and with either men's(unisex) or women's cut.

(5/26/24)  If you're interested in earning your Rouleur Award this year, keep an eye on our ride calendar for the rides you need.  For this award you need to ride a 100k, 125k, 150k, 200k, and a Dart populaire.  We just added a bunch of Rouleur series rides for the summer, and more will be added in the fall.  The club is going to pre-order the Rouleur patches so we can hand them out to riders once they meet all the requirements.
